The UCD Student Centre, located on the University College Dublin (UCD) Campus, is home to a state-of-the-art swimming pool, gymnasium, fitness and dance studios, TV station, debating chamber, multi-media cinema, performance theatre, conference rooms, administrative offices, cafés, radio station pod as well as public spaces and walkways.
Designed by Fitzgerald Kavanagh & Partners on the basis of student-identified needs, the building has succeeded in creating a vibrant social, sports and creative “campus heart” for the benefit of students at UCD.
The tiling elements relate to the FINA regulated 50 Metre Olympic swimming pool, pool hall and mosaic seating areas, members and non-members changing villages, tepidarium, as well as public toilets and bespoke tile feature areas within the building.
TileStyle proposed tile manufacturers from a number of countries to suit the needs of the architects.
