Emmett and his team at Butcher Otoko (formerly The Butcher Barber) have provided world-class grooming for men since 2012. Taking inspiration from a deep-rooted Japanese culture called omotenashi, meaning to wholeheartedly look after guests, he has guided their shift from the walk-in model to an appointment based, client-first philosophy that ensures the highest quality of service and cut.

TileStyle were delighted to supply the magnificent black marble-effect tile slabs for this stunning salon interior fit-out. Not only were the slabs used on the walls and floors, they were also used on the countertops and the reception desk (seen below.)

“It’s not just about a great haircut, it’s about giving you an experience and allowing you the time to feel good about yourself,” says Emmett Byrne, Owner of Butcher Otoko. “I’ve gone for a very masculine colour, quite dark and muted using natural materials; stones, marbles and granite. I’ve done that on purpose because men love spaces like that. It’s a calming space, relaxed but still focused on service and the small details.”
