Kitchen Transformation in Co Meath

Having renovated their bathrooms several years ago with TileStyle, our clients returned recently when it came to redesigning their kitchen.

Our Senior Kitchen Designer Sinead Curran headed up the project, working closely with the clients to ensure every element of the required brief was met.

THE ORIGINAL KITCHEN was tired, dated and cluttered with the cabinetry and peninsula unit making the space feel a lot smaller. Like many Irish kitchens it was poorly laid out with a small utility area and the overall space didn't function well for family use.

THE CLIENT BRIEF to TileStyle was to create something spacious and calm and above all functional with plenty of storage. The client wanted the existing peninsula unit removed and replaced with a more contemporary island unit so that circulation was more fluid.

KEY CHALLENGES with this project included measuring up the kitchen space due to an angled false wall in the corner where the original hob was located. Fortunately there were no hidden surprises behind! The clients had their own ideas regarding the new kitchen layout but needed a solution for the utility room which required careful design consideration around an existing boiler. Part of the solution was to create enclosed storage units concealing both the boiler and laundry items.

CLEVER DETAILS within this beautiful new Porcelanosa kitchen include; made to measure drawers underneath the hob and a new corner unit above, also made to measure to ensure a perfect fit. The worksurfaces, wall panels, window cills and reveals are all created from Krion by Porcelanosa. Krion is a seamless material with many benefits such as, no visible joints or grouting and no hard angles gathering grime. Krion is a poreless material making it stain proof and very hygienic. The new kitchen wall units have been designed to fit closer to the ceiling allowing for additional storage and creating a greater sense of space. Flyover shelves with integrated lighting above both windows are a clever detail bringing task lighting to areas where there is no under cabinet lighting.
