We really love how our tiles look in this project by Ruth Noble Interiors.
This beautiful house in Trim is a Georgian style new build. Ruth’s intention was to incorporate more colour and personality into the property as well as a more contemporary style which would flow from room to room throughout the house. This particular area became the main entrance to the house for both guests and for the family who occupy it. Ruth wanted the tiles to make an impact on guests while ensuring that the client would not tire of them over time. These classic but dramatic green and blue tiles teamed with a much more neutral bone tile really suit this space. They create an impressive, inviting functional entrance area. And the client is delighted with the outcome!
We were really intrigued with how the tiles were actually laid in this photo. Ruth explained that the client was keen on incorporating a border tile within this entrance area. Upon exploring options for the layout of the tile, she came up with the idea to format the tiles within the entrance space slightly differently to those in the WC and utility and boot room areas. This worked out really well making the areas feel much larger and much more open.
Ruth encourages you to be brave with colour. And not be afraid to mix different styles from various periods – When well curated, they can sit really nicely together!
