With water charges kicking in from today, we have a few bits of helpful advice on how save on usage when it comes to your bathroom!
Only use the toilet for its clear purpose! Flushing the toilet is the biggest water user in the house. Don’t flush random bits of toilet paper or use it as disposal for anything other than what it’s meant for.
Taking this into account, the dual flush toilet system is bound to become a household essential, due to its capability to save water with their half flush.
Brush your teeth wisely! Don’t keep the water running whilst you brush. Only use it to wet the toothbrush and for rinsing. Even better if you can fill a glass up to rinse with rather than shoving your head in the sink while the tap runs!
Be smart about how you use your bath water.
Try saving baths for those days that you really are in need of one. That way you will be even more appreciative of it and why not enjoy a glass of champers too on that extra special occasion!
Bath water (if you feel it’s clean enough!) can be used to soak heavily soiled clothes that need pre-soaking before a wash. So before you think about emptying that water, give the kids muddy clothes some steeping time in it!
Install a low-flow showerhead. They are definitley a wise investment and will save you money on water expenses.
Another way to cut down on water use is to turn off the shower while soaping up, then turn it back on to rinse (but you knew that already!)
Shave Your Costs!
Rinse your razor in the sink. Fill the sink with a few inches of warm water. This will rinse your razor just as well as running water, with far less waste of water.
If you happen to shave in the shower, turn the water off whilst doing so and used a container instead to rinse the razor.
At TileStyle we have a wide range of water saving products available.
